The fact that Assad is a murderous dictator is not in question; he is and always has been. The fact that he has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people and wounded and displaced many more is not in question either — it’s happening.
What you’re offering there is something akin to Holocaust denial and there isn’t a damn thing “progressive” about that.
